Two victories today 1) I got ANOTHER SIX whole hours of sleep (unmedicated) and 2) I got my first subscriber on this blog! :). The sleep is lovely but knowing that my journey was interesting enough that someone wants to follow is everything. My goal has always been to help people by being so open.
I’ve decided that since I keep mentioning things that I’m purchasing from Amazon that I’ll make an affiliate site. *IF* someone orders through my link, I *may* receive a commission paid fully by Amazon and doesn’t affect the final cost to the consumer.
Another page that I’ll add is recipes. My recipes, or the way that I make them, are a starting point. I add and/or alter ingredients to suit my taste. The first recipe that I wrote out is my Hot Cocoa Mix. Did you know you don’t have to buy a mix at exorbitant prices from the store? When I realized how much I was spending on hot chocolate mix, and how often, I used Pinterest to find another option.
There is an initial outlay of powdered milk and your preferred chocolate chips/wafers if you don’t already have the items, but the mix I make can be made with a 1:1 sugar substitute or with real sugar – or mix of them!
Surgery date is two weeks from today. Remember when I said that this process and waiting seems all “timey-wimey”? Yeah, still. Two weeks seems like forever – especially during cold and flu season – but I have so much still to do andI am feeling overwhelmed.
Since I was awake, I was able to confirm with GI that I can have my colonoscopy on the 27th even though I’m having the partial mastectomy on the 16th. The nurses said that they were going to confirm with anesthesia but right now, it’s a go! While it may be a lot, I think in the long run it’ll be easier. And, I don’t have to take any additional time off work. Whew.
I also added my time off work for surgery/recovery and received an automated phone call confirming everything there as well. Yes, I still have to go and ask for them to do MORE paperwork but I also have to go up there to have them do my critical insurance paperwork as well.
Adding “jumping through hoops” to my resume! Between the insurance company for FMLA, disability, and critical illness insurance and the hospital and all those moving parts, I’m exhausted.
